Liebe Freunde,
Das neue Jahr ist noch jung aber schon kommen die ersten positiven Nachrichten, wenigstens in unserem Bereich. Der im letzten Jahr so erfolgreiche Jugendaustausch mit der "Unitarian Universalist Community of Croton" geht in diesem Jahr auf erweiterter Europäischer Ebene weiter. Es empfiehlt sich also sich rechtzeitig anzumelden. Die Beschreibung des Austauschprogrammes und die Anmeldeformulare findet Ihr in der Anlage. Bitte denkt darüber nach wer in Eurem Bereich in Frage kommt und gebt diese Information weiter. In den Grünen Seiten der Unitarischen Blätter wurde über den Austausch berichtet. Wenn Ihr weitere Fragen habt wendet Euch bitte an mich. Ansonsten meldet Euch bitte direkt und möglichst schnell bei Shahan Islam an.

Hello Swaantje, Alke, Marc, Carina & Saskia (and a few others),

I (and friends and fellow Uus in the Croton area) was honored to have met you in 2008 as part of the Youth Exchange program. Because of you - and your families (and the Schneider-breheret family), you made 2008 a wonderful success! Thank you, thank you thank you!

As you know, there is no fee for this program (and thus no advertising budget) - so the future success of the program depends on your assistance in informing others about the program. I am therefore attaching the application papers for the 2009 program (it has not been changed) and also some articles about the program so that you may: 1) apply again to be an exchange student; 2) have your families apply again to host; OR 3) send the application papers to anyone you feel may be interested in the program.

Attached are:

1) Exchange Papers: Pages 1-5 contain a Youth Application (for youth who would like to go to another country);
Pages 6-8 contain a medical form for a youth to be signed by his/her physician;
Pages 9-10 contain a host family application for those wishing to take in a youth; and
Pages 11-12 contain a liability waiver for youth and the families sending a youth to complete.

3)Youth Article appearing in a local Westchester County, New York, USA newspaper.

4)Article about the Exchange from the Deutsche Unitarier publication.
